Hey everyone! My name is Rebecca, but most people call be Becca unless they hold a personal grudge(s) against me. I'm originally from Upstate NY where they make the best maple syrup and hike a lot of trails. I decided to go to an urban school because rural life became too mundane and slow-going.
I believe that this world is developing at an alarming rate, and I wanted to have front-row seating. I love Philadelphia in that it still holds small-town people and shops as well as harboring historical landmarks. It is a city with a very unique rhythm and the past two years here have been very enriching.
I'm currently a Junior at Temple University with an Advertising Research major. I am employed by Temple University's Institute for Survey Research and also am an active member of Temple Community Garden. Sustainable communities interest me, and I hope to use the skills learned in advertising to help spread the word about sustainable living. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, photography, and cooking for my friends.
I also enjoy the company of 3 roommates, 2 of which have food allergies. I am a self-proclaimed vegetarian (meaning I won't totally disown meat) and cooking in the apartment is always a challenge. Visit my personal blog Crisis Control to learn more about cooking with allegories and health in mind.
Becca, Great introduction. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your personal blog. Sustainable living? Urban Gardening? Perhaps? Looking forward to it...
