Charlie hits 1million on twitter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEEREWiU5_c From TV to the Internet. Charlie sheen joins twitter and has 1 million followers in just his first 24 hrs of having an account. All because of a couple of interviews displayed by the public media channels on prime time television of his latest antics. Amazing how fast someone can become popular through the social media.

  1. IM loving all this Charlie sheen mania! The man is crazy but is very entertaining. That being said it is no surprise to me that he has hit a million followers faster than any other person. The media has been eating His antics up lately, which has put him in the spotlight once again. I think this story is a good example how influential social media has become in our lives. You know it is influential when a story about how much followers a person has makes front page news.

  2. Similarly, I am also getting quite a laugh out of all the craziness surrounding Charlie Sheen. However, my question to society is whether we should be giving someone as disturbed as Mr.Sheen so much publicity. Media has heightened Charlie Sheen's lack of fame to mania superstardom, but while we are praising him for his silly antics, we are also showing our youth that our culture tolerates this type of behavior. This behavior is one that was produced by enormous amounts of drugs and alcohol. While I find it to be amazing that media was able to re-launch Charlie Sheen in such an astounding way, I also believe that this isn't the type of person the media should praise too much, even if it is comical.

  3. It is funny that NBC thought they were hurting Charlie Sheen by takign him off the show. But there actually making him a even bigger super star than before and of course with the medias help. If he got 1 million people that fast imagine what the medias ratings must be, id want him on my show.

  5. Agreed, and America does love a train wreck... What's even crazier is that there are people who are walking around with 'bi-winning' shirts inspired by the video of his interview that went viral... im sure you've all seen it, but in case you haven't:
