With myspace being somewhat outdated and facebook/twiiter being the current major SNS's, I oftenw onder who's going to be the person to brainstorm and invent the next major SNS and what will it be like...something similar to or building off of the exisiting ones or a completely new type of method of social communication?!
Will SNS's eventually wear off or will they become more advanced as years pass? I think and hope they don't tottaly wear off, but I also hope they the generations to come are not as consumed in them as many people today obsessed and I think that can negatively impact one's personal communication skills.
I think about this a lot too. I always wonder what the next big thing on the Internet will be. I'm personally getting sick of Facebook since I had it for about 4 years so I recently made a twitter. This class helped me realize why people do what they do on these sites and it makes me value real life interaction. I always think about how things will be when we get old. I can't picture our generation being elderly and STILL on social networking sites and frantically texting on their phones. I feel like I will grow out of it once I get started with my career and life plan, but you never know. We may remain highly invested in technology in our old age.
