"Whipahol"

There's been a lot of buzz with the popular caffeine and alcohol mixed drink, Four Loko, and now there's something called "Whipahol." Whipped cream infused with alcohol. As college students, we are constantly exposed to alcohol and lately I feel that the media is emphasizing the dangers of these drinks more than necessary. Before the drink Four Loko there were other drinks similar like, Joose. Why now is the media reporting so heavily on the topic?

Pennsylvania has very strict alcohol laws compared to other states and I'm glad we have laws in place, but the media's coverage on the drink is going too far. I think the media has been reporting too heavily on Four Loko and trying to find new college trends to stir up unnecessary concern. Any type of alcohol is dangerous when consumed irresponsibly and these drinks should not be focused on in the news. 1. Doesn't it seem that every trend adopted by college students is attacked by mainstream media? And then, eventually, the mainstream always seems to adapt it. Young college aged people are always portrayed as being too radical and godless. I suspect the attack on trends like four loko is related to the age old rift between generations. Older folks in charge of mainstream media are traditionally always afraid of change, including change brought about by a younger generation.
