Chrysler Eminem Super Bowl Commercial - Imported From Detroit
I thought that this SuperBowl commercial was really interesting in a few different aspects; patriotism, audience, choice of actor....what did everyone else think?
Apparently it broke the record for viewership, beating last year's Superbowl by 4.5 million viewers. It was a great game, but that half time show? Glee's halftime show, a thriller/heads will roll mash up, was much better!
I am so glad you posted this commercial! It was one of my favorite from the Superbowl. I read on AdAge that Chrysler had to get special permission from the NFL to air a two minute spot because normally their TV breaks are only 1:30. It was the first time a commercial was two minutes long in the Superbowl. Before seeing the spot I was worried it wouldn't be able to hold my attention for a full two minutes. But, it caught my attention and a lot of others too. It was definitely one of the more memorable commercials from the Superbowl
Connor here. I thought this was a good Commercial because detroit and GM as a company has gone down in popularity this past year and the company has taken a big hit. By using eminem as a new tough hard spokes person for was a good idea because he is from detroit and brings a tougher grittier edge to thier look. It was a good move from a marketing point of view.
Courtney: Glad you brought up such an interesting commercial. While not totally on topic, for me it brings up many questions about race and socio-economic issues.
Conner: Please watch your grammar, punctuation. Remember that you are representing our class in a public space!
