New Movie: "The Social Network"

I'm sure everyone has seen previews for the movie "The Social Network." It's about the start of Facebook and I thought it was interesting when I came upon this interview on the NBC10 website. Justin Timberlake plays a character in the new film, and he says some things that interested me. For one, he doesn't use Facebook! That doesn't really surprise me since he's busy with his career, but he had a lot of interesting things to say that deals with a lot of things we discussed in class.

I think there's a lot of truth that the internet is a powerful place, and it can be a great place for ideas to flow, but it also can be a very scary place. It's all about how we use the internet, and we'll never know the potential of how far it could go. The video is short and he doesn't go too in depth about the movie but it definitely creates conversation!

  1. I was watching the news and they were saying that this movie has its own facebook page with thousands of people that like it. Then they mentioned how the creator of facebook, Mark Zuckerberg probably doesn't 'like' the page.
Does this mean he doesn't approve of the movie? im confused

  2. I just went to watch the movie two days ago and I thought it was a really interesting film. It expresses how people are generally nosy about other people's lives and how they want to see what is going on that they usually may not have access to. And by the creation of facebook, people are capable to knowing what is going on outside their reach. I personally thought that the movie didn't have a good ending but the movie itself was well made and it made a lot of sense in which how Mark Zucherberg went through in making this social networking site.

I agree to how there is no limit to how far the internet can go and it is scary how facebook has taken a furthur step in the interaction between people online.
